Peneflix Sabbatical

Dear Subscribers,

After close to 20 years, I have decided to take a sabbatical; time to plunder, nurture the other side of my brain before it atrophies.

For all of you who’ve been in the movie market, chugging along with me, it’s been a jaunty journey, circulating, imbibing in the tame, innovative, foreign: mystery, romance, politics, war and every facet of the human condition, film questions, invigorates, challenges our perceptions, biases; it is a master class in elucidation, growth, understanding and uncontaminated pleasure. It is a life source, force for many, the crystallization of fantasies, desires, hopes, dreams. Film makes life, not only bearable, but worth living.

A sabbatical is a hiatus, not a departure; rejuvenation is key to opening the wonders of the unexplored, lying listless in one’s psyche, deserving of nurturing, exploration and unfractured focus.

I will return, refreshed, possibly refined, satiated with the finally addressed, acknowledged, enhanced with the marrow of the newly investigated.

My utmost gratitude for your faithful readership, attentiveness; you will spot me lurking in the shadows of movie theatres, still fascinated, intrigued, loving the genre.
